Two days ago, you told someone who you are and what you’re looking for.
Yesterday, you started asking others what they need and how you can help them.
Maybe they asked you back in return — were you ready for that moment?
We get asked “Hey, how are you?” all the time.
And most of us just say, “Fine, thanks. How are you?”
That’s a missed opportunity.
What if instead you said something like:
“I’m great, actually — I’m building a new Bitcoin education website for kids and I’m having so much fun!”
The other person might respond:
“Oh really? My wife’s a teacher at a progressive school — they were just talking about adding that to the curriculum!”
See what happened? You just opened a door.
The same goes for when someone asks, “So, what do you do?”
If you simply say, “I’m a data analyst,” that’s another opportunity lost.
Try adding what you’re looking for:
“I’m a data analyst, but I’m actually looking to move into development — ideally at a Bitcoin startup.”
You never know what connection might come from that.
Maybe the other person — who has nothing to do with Bitcoin — says:
“Oh, I think my cousin works for one…”
Practice this starting today:
What are you going to say from now on when someone asks,
“How are you?” or
“So, what do you do?”
Start tweaking your conversations.
Make them intentional.
Use them to plant seeds for your future opportunities.
Enjoy practicing this over the weekend, and see you back here on Monday!
