Welcome to Day 3 of Jobtober!
Today is optional and very personal to you. You can choose to skip this if you don’t have time, but research shows that people with clear, measurable goals (written down) are much more likely to achieve them than people with just general hopes and dreams.
So let me introduce you to the GROW model. This simple yet effective framework can help you structure your approach to Jobtober (or any goal in life) and make sure you get the most out of this month.
What is the GROW Model?
The GROW model is a simple and popular framework for moving from where you are now to where you want to be.
It stands for:
G – Goal: What do you want to achieve? Define a clear outcome.
“What do I want to achieve by the end of Jobtober?” - A stronger online presence, more followers or connections, or more proof of work?
R – Reality: Where are you now? Honestly assess your current situation.
“What is my current number of LinkedIn connections? How visible am I in the Bitcoin space right now? If a recruiter Googled my name, what would they find?”
O – Options: What could you do? Brainstorm potential actions and strategies to get from A to B.
“What are all the things I could do to increase my visibility and connections? How can I better ‘advertise’ myself and my proof of work? What if I didn’t care what other people thought? What would I do?”
W – Will (or Way Forward): What will you do? Choose specific actions and commit to them.
“Which of these options will I commit to this month? What is the very first step I will take, and when will I do it?
