December Bitcoin Conferences
How to grow your network and become a good node on Bitcoin’s human layer
While there are plenty of Bitcoin events still happening around the world, the conference season slows down a bit in December. Two major events are taking place in Asia — and it’s a great time to plan ahead for January and beyond.
Conferences Are Where Nodes Come Online
Bitcoin is a network of nodes — and so is its community.
Conferences are where those human nodes “come online”.
When you show up in person, you connect, exchange information, and strengthen the signal of the entire network.
It’s easy to sit behind a screen, stacking sats and reading Bitcoin Twitter, but if you never connect with others, you’re a dormant node.
You might have the passion and the knowledge — but the network can’t “see” you yet.
That’s exactly where I was before BTC Prague 2023.
I loved Bitcoin, studied it for years, even worked in Bitcoin startups — but I wasn’t really part of the community.
Then I went to that conference with a single intention: to figure out how I could be of service to the network and immerse myself in the Bitcoin community.
That mindset changed everything.
I came online. I met people. I learned what Bitcoiners truly needed — and from those conversations, Bitvocation was born.
How to Use Conferences to Build Your Network
Every Bitcoin event is a chance to sync with the human layer of Bitcoin.
But to make it count, you have to go in with an intention.
Ask yourself before you go:
What am I curious about right now?
Who do I want to meet?
What can I contribute or share?
Then — talk to people.
Ask what they’re working on, and tell them what you’re building.
If the thought of talking to strangers makes you uncomfortable, read Dale Carnegie. Study charisma. Learn to become someone others want to support.
On the social layer of Bitcoin, soft skills are as much part of your proof of work as hard skills.
Next Week: From Conferences to Circular Economies
If you want to see what happens when this human network becomes physical — when sats, services, and people all flow together — stay tuned for next week’s story.
I’ll share what I experienced in El Salvador: how Bitcoin circular economies are a real-world expression of what happens when every human node stays active, connected, and intentional.
Inside the POW Lab: Bitcoiners Coming Online
The same thing is happening inside the POW Lab right now.
Members have been coming online by publicly announcing to their network what they want to be known for from now on — and by owning their professional Bitcoin identity.
Three POW Lab members are currently working on small projects for Bitvocation, helping us elevate our services for both job seekers and employers.
Others are writing eBooks, starting companies, and launching side hustles that push Bitcoin forward in their own unique ways.
The group has even started virtual meetings, creating a space to connect, collaborate, and get to know the humans behind the Telegram handles.
If you’ve been sitting quietly on the sidelines, thinking about coming online, the POW Lab is the place to do just that.
(The price will increase soon, but anyone who joins at the current rate of 88,888 sats can renew their membership at this same rate forever, no matter how much we increase the value of the POW Lab over time.)
Enjoy your Sunday!
Thanks for being part of the Bitvocation community 🧡
