Bitvocation | Your Strategic Bitcoiners Reserve: JOBTOBER

Jobtober Day 17 - Beware of ATS Systems

Anja | Bitvocation — Fri, 23 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

You’ve worked hard to make yourself findable in the Bitcoin community over the past days and weeks, but what about the recruiters’ software?

Most companies use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to scan CVs and filter out candidates before a human ever sees them. And if it’s not an ATS system, it’s Claude or other AI agents. Until those systems become mores sophisticated, they will just look for keywords that match the job description.

If your CV doesn’t include those words, it’s likely to be rejected automatically, no matter how qualified you are.

That’s why you should never use the same CV for every job application. Adjust it. Highlight the skills and experience most relevant to each role. And always include a short cover letter to show genuine interest and context for the specific company and position.

There are plenty of tools to help with this, including our CV Doctor, built specifically for Bitcoiners, to make sure your application is optimized and discoverable.

The CV Doctor is part of Bitvocation’s Career Hub (which is on discount until the end of Jobtober).

Upload your CV, select a job from our feed, and get a new and improved bitcoinized version for this particular job.

🧡 Today’s Task

👉 Use our CV doctor or ask your favorite AI which formats are best for ATS readability and see if you have to make some changes to your CV. Believe it or not, small details like file type and font size can make the difference between being read or rejected. Read our thorough article on this here.

It might be the difference between getting filtered out or getting found.

Jobtober Day 16 - Expand Your Strategic Bitcoiners Reserve

Anja | Bitvocation — Thu, 22 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

You reached out to your Bitcoin heroes on Day 10.
You joined inner circles and beta tester groups on Day 12.

Now it’s time to get even more intentional — to grow your Strategic Bitcoiners Reserve.

As we discussed before - when you’re suddenly looking for a job, it’s too late to start building meaningful relationships. The connections you nurture today are the ones that will help you tomorrow.

Your Strategic Bitcoiners Reserve isn’t about random connections; it’s about quality and purpose — people who can open doors for you, and strengthen your findability in the Bitcoin job market.

💡 Who belongs in your Strategic Bitcoiners Reserve?

1️⃣ Recruiters, Talent Managers, and HR Professionals

They’re your natural allies. Their job is to build and maintain networks of potential candidates. When you connect with them, you’re helping them do their job better — and putting yourself on their radar for future roles.

💡 Tip: Send a short, human note like “Love what your team is doing. Happy to stay connected!”

2️⃣ Department Heads & Hiring Managers

These are the decision-makers. They might post rarely, but when they hire, they often start with their own network. Follow them on LinkedIn, but also check X and Nostr — many Bitcoiners are more active there.

Engage with their posts occasionally; a thoughtful comment now can make your name familiar when you apply later.

3️⃣ Employees Inside Your Favorite Bitcoin Companies

Why? Because referrals matter — and many companies reward their employees for recommending good candidates. If you’ve already had a friendly exchange with someone inside, it’s much easier to ask for an intro later.

“I love what you’re building at [company] — especially [product]. Are you going to [conference]? Would love to learn more.”

Even if you never meet in person, that small, genuine interaction plants a seed. Months later, when a job opens up, and you contact them for a referral, your message won’t feel like it came out of nowhere. You’ll be “that friendly Bitcoiner who reached out months ago.”

🧭 Your mission today

Identify 5–10 new people to add to your Strategic Bitcoiners Reserve:

A recruiter or HR person in a Bitcoin company you admire
A department head or hiring manager in your target field
2–3 employees working in the teams you’d love to join

Connect thoughtfully. Start conversations early.
Every message you send today is like stacking sats — a small, consistent investment that compounds over time.

How to search on LinkedIn:

Type Bitcoin in the Search field, filter on People, and then on your second or third connections.

You can also click on All Filters and select e.g. Human Resources there.

You can also look up Bitcoin companies directly, and click on their current employees and then select the right people to connect with.

And if you want to go really fancy, google Boolean Search Strings for LinkedIn, and play around with those. But the above simple searches should do the trick, too.

Happy connecting!

Jobtober Day 15 - Stay Visible Like a Good Bitcoin Node

Anja | Bitvocation — Wed, 21 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

We talked about using comments and a strong LinkedIn headline back on Day 9 — a simple trick to boost visibility and attract more followers.

But what about your existing followers?

People follow hundreds of others. They might forget who you are or why they followed you in the first place.

That’s why you need a signature — a short reminder that anchors your name to your message.

💡 Today’s task:

Create a short signature and add it to every LinkedIn post — and even to your professional emails.

Your signature should include the words or message you want people to associate with you — the reputation you defined back on Day 3.

Ask yourself:

“When someone sees my name, what’s the one thing I want to come to mind?”

This isn’t bragging. It’s broadcasting your identity — like a Bitcoin node constantly signaling its presence in the network.

This is the one I used when I started Bitvocation and nobody knew me yet:

🧠 Example Signatures

Example 1:

I’m Lara — an HR professional helping Bitcoin companies hire and onboard their teams the right way. Learn with me at [link].

Example 2:

I’m Mike. I’m the Bitcoin UX guy. I make your Bitcoin app look good and easy to use. Check out my portfolio here [link].

Example 3:

I’m Sebastian. I’m a facilitator for Bitcoin adoption among merchants. I have set up bitcoin payments successfully in my own shop and I can help you do the same. Easy and fast. [Connect with me here]

Important tip: Keep it short! This signature will make your posts longer, even if you separate it clearly from the rest of the post. Don’t overwhelm your readers with too much text.

We built portfolios on Day 13.
We made them visible on Day 14.
Now it’s time to stay visible — to keep your signal alive.

Your posts, comments, and emails are all touch points — each one is a chance to strengthen your reputation and remind people who you are.

🧡 Stay online. Stay visible. Stay findable.

Jobtober Day 14 - Make Your Portfolio Visible

Anja | Bitvocation — Tue, 20 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

Gm ☀️ Have you had a chance to create your Portfolio of Proof yesterday?

Do you now have a home base for everything you’ve built, written, contributed, or created in Bitcoin?

(Did you vibe-code something, like Mindaugas and Krrish did?)

Then it’s time to make sure people can actually see it.

The best portfolio in the world is useless if it’s buried where no one can find it.

Today’s mission:

Make your proof visible everywhere people might discover you.

Here are a few key places to start 👇

LinkedIn Header:

Go to your profile
Click the little ✏️ (edit) icon in your top section
Add your portfolio URL and a call to action in the text field — e.g.
“Visit my website”
“Check out my portfolio”
“My Bitcoin #ProofOfWork at a glance”
“Test my app” — or whatever creative CTA fits you best.
Hit Save

Anja’s example

Your portfolio link will now appear right under your headline.
Anyone who visits your profile will immediately see that you’re a builder.

Here are a couple of examples:

Besides your LinkedIn profile, there are plenty of other places to add your portfolio link:

📄 CV or Resume
💌 Email Signature
🐦 Social Bios
💬 Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord Profiles

Visibility is not vanity. Visibility is findability.

Your proof of work is what makes you credible. Your visibility is what makes you discoverable.

Your task for today:

👉 Add your portfolio link to at least one place where people can find you.
Choose the one you use most or that will have the highest impact (very likely LinkedIn).
👉 POW Lab members: Share your new portfolio link in the group so we can give you feedback!

Huge thanks to our amazing sponsors Podcasted!, BitBooks, 2BuildLaunch and BitVault, for supporting Jobtober and helping Bitcoiners become findable.

Jobtober Day 13 - Build Your Portfolio of Proof

Anja | Bitvocation — Mon, 19 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

Bitcoiners don’t rely on fancy titles or certificates — we show proof of work.
Your portfolio is the place where your proof lives.

Whether you’re a developer, designer, marketer, writer, or builder of any kind, you can create a simple page that showcases your contributions — your proof that you build, write, design, contribute, and care.

You have plenty of options for where to host your Portfolio of Proof:

💻 GitHub — for developers to show commits, pull requests, or open-source contributions.
📘 Notion — for curating everything in one place: your GitHub, articles, projects, talks, or events.
🌐 Carrd — a free one-pager where you can visually showcase your portfolio.
🔗 Linktree — for a simple list of your most important links.
⚡ Lovable or Claude or any other AI agent or vibe coding app that helps you spin up a landing page in no time.

Remember: the Bitcoin job market runs on trust and visibility.
Your portfolio turns your actions into signal.

Your task for today:

👉 Choose a platform for your portfolio
👉 Collect your best Bitcoin-related work — projects, posts, articles, or events - and show case it there.

See yourself as a business. Your skills and talents are the services you provide.
Your CV and experience become your portfolio.

For now, your Bitcoin proof-of-work portfolio might only include side hustles, passion projects, or volunteer work. That’s totally fine - it’s still proof of work.

Play with this a bit. Tomorrow we’re going to make your portfolio VISIBLE.

PS. And if you’ve never vibe-coded anything - it’s time! ⚡

Jobtober Day 12 - Get on the Inside

Anja | Bitvocation — Fri, 16 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

One of the fastest ways to get noticed in Bitcoin is to get on the inside of your favorite Bitcoin companies.

Many startups run beta tester groups or ambassador programs — small communities where early users help shape the product, report bugs, and share feedback. These are often hidden gems for networking and career opportunities, because this is where community-driven hiring really happens: founders notice the people who show up, contribute, and care.

I actually landed one of my own Bitcoin jobs this way. When I first heard about the Fountain app, I was so enthusiastic that I joined their beta tester group on Telegram. Back then, there were only around 30 of us — including the founders and the CEO.
In which other industry do you get to hang out directly with the people building your favorite tools? It’s rare — and we should make the most of it.

When they later posted that they needed help with customer-support tickets, I raised my hand — and got hired to set up their support department, which happens to be my area of expertise from the fiat world. Since the team already knew me from my contributions in the group, it was an easy yes for them.

Almost every Bitcoin project has a small circle like this. If you can’t find one publicly, ask!

Why would a team hire strangers from a CV when they can bring on someone who:

already loves the product,
uses it regularly,
knows it inside out, and
has already proven their enthusiasm and reliability?

This is a low-hanging fruit for startups — and a massive opportunity for you.

Your task for today:

👉 Think of your top three favorite Bitcoin projects.
👉 Find out if they have a beta tester, ambassador, or community group.
👉 Join, observe, contribute — and look out for opportunities shared there first.

Because jobs will always be posted there first — long before they hit any public job board.

P.S. Unsurprisingly, we do the same at Bitvocation. Whenever we have new BTX projects coming up, we first ask inside the POW Lab community. It’s simply easier — and smarter — to work with people who already share our values, show initiative, and understand what we’re building together. And when Bitcoin founders reach out to us - we do the same.

Jobtober Day 11 — Halfway There

Anja | Bitvocation — Wed, 14 Oct 2026 22:00:00 GMT

Jobtober’s first half is over!

You’ve already checked a few things off your list, set your goals and intentions, and started building proof of work for your Bitcoin career.

Now’s the perfect moment to pause and ask yourself, am I on track?

Let’s assume your LinkedIn profile is in good shape by now - clear, orange-framed, and unmistakably Bitcoiner (Days 2, 4 & 5).

In your daily actions, conversations, and habits, are you making sure to:

✅ Create the reputation you want to have? (Day 1)
✅ Move closer to the goals you set? (Day 3)
✅ Be a good, helpful Bitcoin node while having intentional conversations that let others “discover” you? (Days 6–8)
✅ Maintain visibility by commenting, engaging, and expanding your network of favorite Bitcoiners on LinkedIn? (Days 9 and 10)

Here’s something interesting: fewer than 10 % of Jobtober participants are usually publicly posting or using the #Jobtober hashtag.

That means there’s zero noise—only signal.

If you’ve been holding back because you thought the feed would be crowded - now’s your chance to shine.

You’re halfway there. Keep going, keep showing up, and keep stacking your proof of work.

If you dropped the ball on anything, that’s okay. Just decide what you’ll recommit to for the second half.

This is where momentum turns into visibility. 🚀

P.S. Unsurprisingly, most of the people actively showing up for #Jobtober are POW Lab members. It’s just easier to stay consistent when you’re surrounded by a supportive community that’s cheering you on.

If you’re truly committed to working in Bitcoin - whether you’re building your own thing or you’re looking for employment - come join us in the POW Lab! It’s where visibility meets momentum. 💪 We help you “show your work” and get connected through monthly builder calls and regular coworking sessions.

Jobtober Day 10 - Reach Out to Your Bitcoin Heroes

Anja | Bitvocation — Tue, 13 Oct 2026 22:00:00 GMT

Who do you admire in Bitcoin?

A founder?
An author?
A speaker?

Who among them is active on LinkedIn?

Actively connect with them today and ask to join their network.

BUT: When you send a connection request, always add a note.

Say something genuine and specific. For example:

“I love what you’re building! I’ve been a user since Day 1. I’d love to connect.”
“I really enjoyed your book - especially the part about [...]. I’d love to connect here.”
“I’m excited to see you’re speaking at [conference name]. Looking forward to your keynote!”

That’s it. Most people will accept your connection request. After all, who doesn’t like a sincere compliment?

💡 Bonus tip:

If they’re active on LinkedIn, start by following them and engaging with their content first for a few days. Leave thoughtful comments. Then, when you send a connection request, they’ll already recognize your name, and your chances of being accepted will skyrocket.

Jobtober Day 9 - Earn more followers on LinkedIn

Anja | Bitvocation — Tue, 13 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

The Most Effective Way to Gain Followers on LinkedIn: Commenting

When you comment, LinkedIn really rewards you - it helps your comment get in front of more people. Not only will the author of the post see your comment, but your network will be notified that you commented, and everyone outside your network who sees that post and comments after you will also see your comment - plus the first 40 characters of your headline.

If they like your comment and your headline makes them curious, they’ll click on your profile.
If they like the first impression your profile gives (everything above the fold), they’ll follow or connect with you.

That’s why we did all the LinkedIn work last week - you updated your tagline, added the orange frame, and maybe reworked your About section. This part of your profile is your “shop window” on LinkedIn. And the best way to direct people there is by commenting on other people’s posts.

In fact, if your goal is to grow your followers, don’t focus on posting.
Focus on commenting.

If you have only a small audience, hardly anyone will see the original content you post.
But many people will see the comments you make on other people’s content.

So comment regularly until you have a substantial number of followers — then start posting more original content on your own profile.

Your homework for today: Commit to making a certain number of comments every day or every week.

One per day?
Three per day?
One day a week with ten comments?

Find a rhythm that works for you.

Consistency is key.

If you leave thoughtful comments rather than just “Awesome” or “Congrats,” you’ll start seeing results very quickly.

PS: I probably don’t have to tell you, but the lowest hanging fruit right now is to search for the #Jobtober hashtag and comment on your fellow participants posts. Help each other out!

Jobtober Day 8 - Practice Having Intentional Conversations

Anja | Bitvocation — Mon, 12 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

A couple of days ago, you told someone who you are and what you’re looking for.
Yesterday, you started asking others what they need and how you can help them.
Maybe they asked you back in return - were you ready for that moment?

We get asked “Hey, how are you?” all the time.
And most of us just say, “Fine, thanks. How are you?”

That’s a missed opportunity.

What if instead you said something like:

“I’m great, actually - I’m building a new Bitcoin education website for kids and I’m having so much fun!”

The other person might respond:

“Oh really? My wife’s a teacher at a progressive school - they were just talking about adding that to the curriculum!”

See what happened? You just opened a door.

The same goes for when someone asks, “So, what do you do?”
If you simply say, “I’m a data analyst,” that’s another opportunity lost.

Try adding what you’re looking for:

“I’m a data analyst, but I’m actually looking to move into development - ideally at a Bitcoin startup.”

You never know what connection might come from that.
Maybe the other person - who has nothing to do with Bitcoin - says:

“Oh, I think my cousin works for one…”

Practice this starting today:

What are you going to say from now on when someone asks,

“How are you?” or
“So, what do you do?”

Start tweaking your conversations.
Make them intentional.
Use them to plant seeds for your future opportunities.

Huge thanks to our amazing sponsors Podcasted!, BitBooks, 2BuildLaunch and BitVault, for supporting Jobtober and helping Bitcoiners become findable.

Jobtober Day 7 – Be a Good Bitcoin Node

Anja | Bitvocation — Fri, 09 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

Practice being a good Bitcoin node today.

Connect someone with an important contact.

To do that, you first need to know what people are looking for — which means you need to ask!

Try starting with something simple like:

“Hey, I know you’re building [x] or looking for [y].
Is there anything I could do to help you move forward - maybe connect you with someone who has knowledge, decision-making power, funds, or useful connections?”

We’re all working on something.
We’ve all felt stuck at some point.
And we all know a ton of people.

Someone who’s just a DM away for you might be out of reach for someone else - and your introduction could make all the difference.

For some of you, this comes naturally and you already do it all the time. For others, it may take a conscious effort. Either way, today’s your chance to practice it deliberately.

💡 I often ask Bitcoin friends to connect me with podcasters or event organisers so I can spread the word about Bitvocation. You can do the same — connect people who might benefit from knowing each other.

Why are we doing this?

Because networking in Bitcoin isn’t about collecting contacts - it’s about building trust, sharing signal, and strengthening the network.

We need to give first in order to receive later.
And we need to turn that habit of giving — being helpful, being there for others — into something as natural as stacking sats.

When you introduce someone to the right contact, they’ll remember it.
They’ll remember you.
And they’ll be far more likely to return the favor when the time comes.

And they’ll keep you in mind — which means it has a direct effect on your FINDABILITY and REPUTATION.

POW Lab members: Post in the group which contacts you’re currently looking for.
Then read through others’ posts and see if you can help connect a fellow member.

Dare to be the first one to post! Ask:

“What’s everyone looking for?
Is there a specific contact - company or person - that could help you move giant leaps forward?”

Jobtober Day 6 - Say it out loud

Anja | Bitvocation — Thu, 08 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

You’ve set your goals for Jobtober.

You’ve clarified what you want people to know about you and the reputation you want to build.

You’ve updated your LinkedIn profile with all the basics that help people recognize you as a Bitcoiner.

Now it’s time to TELL people! 🚀

👥 Tell at least one person today what you do, what you’re great at, and what you’re looking for. It doesn’t matter if it’s your mom, your partner, your hairdresser… or an actual Bitcoin recruiter 😉

It doesn’t matter if you share it in person, drop a voice note in a group chat, or publish a short video on social media.

Here’s a simple formula you can use:

I am a [job title / profession].
My passion is / I’m great at [your unique strength].
I’m looking for [the kind of role or project you want].
The value I provide: [the benefit for the employer or client].

💡 Example 1:
“I’m a designer. My passion is making complex ideas simple through visuals. I’d love to join a Bitcoin startup as their first in-house designer, so we can build a brand so recognizable that adoption becomes effortless.”

💡 Example 2:
“I’m a project manager. I’m great at organizing remote teams and shipping on time. I’d love to help a Bitcoin company streamline their operations, so their team can focus on building the next layer of freedom tech instead of fighting fires.”

💡 Example 3:
“I’m a writer. I love turning technical topics into clear, engaging stories. I’d love to create content for a Bitcoin education platform, so more people can onboard confidently and spread Bitcoin to their communities.”

🗣️ Say it out loud. To someone. Anyone.

See how it feels. Hear yourself saying it. Practice until it sounds natural, not forced.

There’s not need to learn this by heart. Just try and remember all four parts, no matter in which order you say them.

⚡ POW Lab members: Try it in the group! Leave a 15-second voice message or post a short video. Let us see or hear you!

Jobtober Day 5 - LinkedIn Visibility Basics Part 2

Anja | Bitvocation — Wed, 07 Oct 2026 03:00:00 GMT

👉 Upload a screenshot of your LinkedIn header into your your favorite AI.

Include everything above the fold: header image, profile photo, headline, and even your About section if you can fit it in.

💬 Prompt example:

“Please analyze this LinkedIn profile. Which target group does it speak to? What’s the first impression it gives? Does it invite my desired target group (Bitcoiners, recruiters at Bitcoin startups, founders of Bitcoin companies) to connect with me?”

✨ You can also ask for tailored feedback:

“I’m a UX Designer looking to work for Bitcoin startups. How can I improve my profile to stand out to them and come up in their searches?”

Update your profile accordingly. Don’t overthink it. Simply focus on the top part for now.

Jobtober Day 4 - LinkedIn Visibility Basics Part 1

Anja | Bitvocation — Tue, 06 Oct 2026 08:01:00 GMT

Did you change your profile pic to the orange frame yesterday?

Let’s take the next step toward more visibility:

👉 Add the keyword “Bitcoin” to your LinkedIn headline.

(Or use a variation that feels right to you: Bitcoiner / BTC / ∞/21M — whatever best represents you.)

Important: Put it in the first 40 characters of your headline.

Why?

The first 40 characters show up when you comment on someone else’s post.
The first 40 characters also show up when you send a connection request.

This means your headline is one of your most powerful visibility tools.

Here are a few examples:

What makes a successful headline?

🟠 It attracts people and makes them want to connect with you.

When you leave a thoughtful comment, everyone who sees it will also see the first part of your headline.
If “Bitcoin” or another resonant keyword is right there, people are more likely to click on your profile.
If they like what they see, they’ll follow you or send you a connection request.

🟠 It increases your acceptance rate.

I personally don’t accept connection requests unless I can instantly see that the person is a Bitcoiner.
If the first thing I see is the orange frame or “Bitcoin” in the headline, I’ll accept right away.
If that’s missing, I only accept if the person added a note explaining they’re a Bitcoiner and why they want to connect.

So if you want to grow your Bitcoin network on LinkedIn, make it easy for other Bitcoiners to recognize you right away.

POW Lab members: post your new headlines in the group and ask us for feedback!

🗓 Tomorrow, in part 2, we’re going to make another small tweak to your LinkedIn profile to cover all the basics, before we focus on other Findability methods for a couple of days.

💡 Bonus tip: Play around with LinkedIn’s pronoun field if you want to get creative. For example, mine says “BTC / Hodler.”

Jobtober Day 3: GROW with Intention

Anja | Bitvocation — Mon, 05 Oct 2026 08:02:00 GMT

Welcome to Day 3 of Jobtober!

Today is optional and very personal to you. You can choose to skip this if you don’t have time, but research shows that people with clear, measurable goals (written down) are much more likely to achieve them than people with just general hopes and dreams.

So let me introduce you to the GROW model. This simple yet effective framework can help you structure your approach to Jobtober (or any goal in life) and make sure you get the most out of this month.

What is the GROW Model?

The GROW model is a simple and popular framework for moving from where you are now to where you want to be.

It stands for:

G – Goal: What do you want to achieve? Define a clear outcome.
- “What do I want to achieve by the end of Jobtober?” - A stronger online presence, more followers or connections, or more proof of work?
R – Reality: Where are you now? Honestly assess your current situation.
- “What is my current number of LinkedIn connections? How visible am I in the Bitcoin space right now? If a recruiter Googled my name, what would they find?”
O – Options: What could you do? Brainstorm potential actions and strategies to get from A to B.
- “What are all the things I could do to increase my visibility and connections? How can I better ‘advertise’ myself and my proof of work? What if I didn’t care what other people thought? What would I do?”
W – Will (or Way Forward): What will you do? Choose specific actions and commit to them.
- “Which of these options will I commit to this month? What is the very first step I will take, and when will I do it?

(POW Lab members: If you want us to hold you accountable, post your commitments in the group!)

By using the GROW model, you can set clear intentions and create an actionable plan to make this Jobtober your most impactful month yet in building your Bitcoin career.

Enjoy, and see you tomorrow (with a tiny new visibility tweak on LinkedIn!) 🧡

Jobtober - Day 2 - The Orange Profile Picture Frame

Anja | Bitvocation — Fri, 02 Oct 2026 07:45:37 GMT

Let’s start with a bang 🚀

Your challenge today: Add the #OpenToBitcoin frame to your LinkedIn profile.

Why?

Because it makes you instantly recognizable as a Bitcoiner. When you send connection requests to other Bitcoiners, your chances of being accepted go way up.

LinkedIn is only as good as your network. If you want to be findable for Bitcoin opportunities, you need to intentionally build a Bitcoin network there. The more Bitcoiners you connect with, the more your feed will transform into signal: Bitcoin content, Bitcoin opportunities, and Bitcoin conversations.

Most people who think LinkedIn is “cringe” simply never curated their network. They’re still seeing fiat noise. Jobtober will teach you how to filter out the noise and amplify the signal.

If you want to go deeper, check out our LinkedIn for Bitcoiners Guide. But for today, let’s start small.

Go to opentobitcoin.com

Instructions

Go to opentobitcoin.com (made by Bitvocation’s Mindaugas)
Upload your photo
Download the frame
Upload it to LinkedIn
Make a post with hashtags #newprofilepic #jobtober #bitvocation #bitcoin (and tag Mindaugas if you want to let him know that you used the tool he built).

Let’s turn LinkedIn orange!

Enjoy your weekend and see you back here on Monday for Day 3! 🧡

⚠️ Disclaimer: This task isn’t for everyone. Some of you may prefer not to be too public about looking for a Bitcoin job right now, and that’s completely fine. For everyone else who’s ready to show it loud and proud, go ahead and add the frame today.

Huge thanks to our amazing sponsors Podcasted!, BitBooks, 2BuildLaunch and BitVault, for supporting Jobtober and helping Bitcoiners become findable.

Jobtober - Day 1 - Kick off

Anja | Bitvocation — Thu, 01 Oct 2026 06:13:00 GMT

Welcome to Day 1 of Jobtober 🎉

We’re kicking things off with a slightly bigger time investment than the other days will require with the following two clips (approx. 30min in total, or 15 at 2x speed ;))

Today sets the foundation for the next 21 days.

Step 1: Watch the Welcome Video Above 👆
Get a quick overview of how Jobtober works and what you can expect.

Step 2: Watch the Lesson on FINDABILITY Below👇
This short training was originally created for our POW Lab members in 2025, and it’s a perfect starting point for Jobtober.

Your task for Day 1

Reflect:

What are your main takeaways from today?
What do you want to be known for?
- Professional skills (coding, sales, design, etc.)
- Personal attributes (creativity, resourcefulness, kindness, etc.)
What do you want people to say about you when you’re not in the room?

If you feel inspired to create content around this, use the hashtags #Jobtober and #Bitvocation. This will help you get discovered by fellow participants, recruiters, potential clients, and the Bitvocation team. (Plus, there will be prizes this year.)

Remember, if you’re a Reddit user, you can also use the sub Reddit Bitcoin Native by our friends from Podcasted!.

💡 Pro tip: Don’t just post, engage. Look up those hashtags, comment on others’ posts, and start building your “Strategic Bitcoiners Reserve.”

See you tomorrow for Day 2!

Jobtober 2026 is in Session: More Findability, More Connections, More Prizes!

Anja | Bitvocation — Tue, 08 Sep 2026 17:55:56 GMT

In this year’s Jobtober edition, we’re a lot more intentional about helping you show your proof of work, connect with others, and most importantly: follow through and become findable.

So we’ve added a few new elements, including prizes. To be eligible to win, you first need to make yourself findable to the Bitvocation team.

This article explains how you can do that.

TL;DR

Use the hashtags #Jobtober and #Bitvocation when you post anywhere online during Jobtober, so the Bitvocation team and other participants can find and engage with you.
Once a week, submit a link to your main public contribution from that week in a dedicated Bitvocation thread on X. We’ll remind you in the Jobtober Telegram channel.
If you submit a contribution every week and make it all the way to the end, you’ll enter the prize draw. Three winners will receive a 6-month membership to Bitvocation’s Career Hub.
You can also connect with other Jobtober participants in our friends’ new BitcoinNative subreddit.

1. Use #Jobtober and #Bitvocation

Some of the daily challenges will inspire you to share something publicly on the platform of your choice, whether that’s LinkedIn, X, Nostr, Reddit or somewhere else.

If you want to be findable by the Bitvocation team and other participants, make it easy for us to spot you by using #Jobtober and #Bitvocation.

2. Submit your weekly proof of work

Once a week during the challenge, we’ll publish a thread on X where you can submit a link to your best public contribution from that week.

We’ll share the thread link in the Jobtober Telegram channel, so make sure to follow there and keep an eye out for the weekly check-in.

You don’t need to submit everything you post. One contribution per week is enough.

The important part is consistency. Jobtober will only work for you if you do it. So submit a contribution every week and stick with Jobtober until the end.

Not only will you enter the prize draw, but you’ll actually make a meaningful difference to your Bitcoin career.

3. Win a 6-month Career Hub membership

At the end of Jobtober, we’ll draw 3 winners from the participants who submitted a contribution every week.

Each winner will receive 6-months Career Hub membership.

The Career Hub gives you access to our complete Bitcoin job feed, a seat in our talent database and more.

4. Join the Jobtober conversation on Reddit

Thanks to our friends at Podcasted!, Jobtober participants have a place to find each other this year, and discuss the daily challenges: r/BitcoinNative.

You can share what you’re learning, ask questions, join conversations, help other participants or simply talk about your experience of trying to build a career in Bitcoin.

Use the Bitcoin Careers post flair so the Bitvocation team can easily spot your contributions.

BitcoinNative is not run by Bitvocation and isn’t a Jobtober-only community. It’s a new community for anyone interested in living and working on a Bitcoin standard.

Don’t stress!

You don’t need to be everywhere, and you don’t need to post every day. Choose where you want to participate, have real conversations and make yourself findable.

See you in Jobtober!

FAQ’s

Q1: What exactly is Jobtober? Jobtober is a 21-day career hackathon specifically designed for Bitcoin professionals. Instead of building products like traditional hackathons, you'll be building your professional reputation and findability in the Bitcoin space through daily challenges and actionable strategies.

Q2: Do I need to be experienced in Bitcoin to participate? You do need to be a passionate Bitcoiner, but whether you already have some proof of work in Bitcoin or not, does not matter. Jobtober is designed for both experienced professionals transitioning to Bitcoin and newcomers just starting their Bitcoin career journey. The challenges are adaptable to your current level of experience.

Q3: What's the difference between the free version and joining the POW Lab? The free version gives you access to all 21 daily prompts and the ability to participate publicly. After October, the channel will go silent for a year, until we run Jobtober again next year. The POW Lab is an inexpensive 6-month membership that includes private community access, exclusive tools like the CV Doctor and LinkedIn Guide, inclusion in our job seekers database, and direct support from Anja and the team. More on that here.

Q4: What happens after October ends? For free participants, the Substack mailing list as well as the Jobtober Telegram channel will go dormant until next year's Jobtober. POW Lab members continue to have access to the community, tools, and resources for a full 6 months, helping you maintain momentum in your Bitcoin career journey.

Q5: How much time do I need to commit daily? It’s up to you. Some prompts will be highly actionable and some will just make you reflect and think. One day you may spend a few minutes polishing your online presences, another day you may just practice adding more intentionality to your daily conversations. The challenge consists of only 21 of the 31 days in October, so there will be plenty of time to catch up. You can participate as much or as little as you like - some prompts may feel more relevant to you than others.

What's the difference between the free Jobtober version and the POW Lab?

Anja | Bitvocation — Sat, 25 Jul 2026 14:54:00 GMT

Jobtober is a 21-day challenge to kickstart your findability as a Bitcoin professional.

We originally created this annual challenge for POW Lab members only, but decided to open it up everyone. Now, once a year, you can get a real taste of what we do at Bitvocation, and see for yourself whether our private community - the POW Lab - is something you’d like to join.

OPTION 1: Public Jobtober version (FREE)

If you want to join the Jobtober version for free as a non-member, you can do so simply by subscribing to the public Jobtober Telegram channel.

For 21 days in October, you’ll:

Receive daily, powerful visibility prompts that inspire you to think, reflect and take action.
Gain clarity on how to become more findable by the people who matter (e.g. recruiters, potential clients)
Learn how to show your proof of work and build your personal “strategic Bitcoiners reserve”
Build habits to become the signal amongst the noise

Perfect for: Bitcoiners who are looking for inspiration to kickstart their Bitcoin career and visibility efforts.

(⚡️150,000 sats)

Want to go deeper than daily prompts? The POW Lab is Bitvocation’s private community for Bitcoiners who are serious about building a career and becoming findable by potential clients or employers in Bitcoin.

Your membership doesn’t just last for 21 days, but for a whole 6-months.

Inside the POW Lab, you’ll get:

All the Jobtober content, plus…
A private community of aligned peers — no noise, just signal.
Inclusion in our private talent pool database — so we can introduce you when startups are asking us for recommendations
Direct support from Anja and the Bitvocation team
Access to our LinkedIn guide for Bitcoiners to accelerate your visibility and network growth.
Opportunities to contribute to Bitvocation and put your first Bitcoin job and proof of work on your cv.

Perfect for: Bitcoiners who want to master their visibility and findability long term, and who appreciate some extra guidance, accountability and practical support.

Join the POW Lab

However you choose to take part in Jobtober, our mission stays the same: to help you cut through the noise and become the signal. When Bitcoiners are more findable, hiring becomes smoother for everyone.
